Sullivans Island is located just north of historic downtown Charleston. A short ride over the Ravenel Bridge brings you into the more modernTown of Mount Pleasant.  Sullivans Island welcomes you after crossing over the Ben Sawyer Bridge and Intercoastal Waterway. Sullivans is my favorite of all the barrier islands in and around the Charleston area. It's a classic kick back beach community.  Sullivans Island real estate offers several types of neighborhoods from the original beach cabins of the early 50's to the more modern lowcountry raised cottages.

The island is a great escape from the downtown city heat of Charleston and now host visitors from all over the country.  Many oceanfront and creek side masions dot the islands landscape, but much of the small beach-town characteristics still remains. These features are captured at many of the main street pubs like Poes Tavern a year around favorite hang out for locals and visitors.  The physical enviroment is wonderful with four miles of white sandy beach. With plenty of outdoor entertainment like surfing, swimming, sunbathing, fishing and shrimping with an abundance of warm sunny days.
