November 2009 - Charleston Welcomes Boeing - North Charleston has been selected to be the new site for the Boeing 787 Dreamliner assembly plant! This is huge news for the Charleston region. The impact has the potential to pump billions into the Lowcountry's economy, lure new business to the area and trigger ripple effects that could impact roads, schools, home sales, lot/land sales, and commercial development! I understand that South Carolina is already home to nearly 80 Boeing suppliers and vendors. The new plant should attract many more aerospace suppliers that need to be close to fill the Boeing orders. Its said that over 3,800 jobs will be created from the plant itself! About Mike:
Mike was born and raised in upstate New York. Just south of the Canadian boarder in the foothills of the Adirondacks in the small village of Malone. Mike's work ethic came at a young age working in the family grocery store "IGA" which still is operating today! After graduating from Plattsburgh State University in 1977... Mike sought a Masters Degree at Arizona State in Tempe, Arizona and ended up living and working in Scottsdale for the next sixteen years. Mike started working as a waiter at the Scottsdale Conference Resort in 1977 and worked his way up the corporate ladder and was the Director of National Sales in charge of three conference resort properties located in Scottsdale, Colorado, and Virginia. Mike left the warm dry climate of the desert in January 1993 to hit the beach and manage the sales & marketing team at The Seabrook Island Resort just minutes south from historical Charleston, South Carolina. Seabrook was a real challenge and all the hard work paid off after ten years managing the island's resort. Living in Charleston has been the most enjoyable years of my life...getting married to my wife Jennifer and raising two young children...Riley & Ellie here on Daniel Island. Mike's entire career has been based around building personal relationships with his corporate clients. His professional sales and marketing background has been vital to his new passion...buying & selling real estate in the Charleston regional market. Mike's other passions include: golfing, running, cycling, coaching, and hanging with the family!
